About the artist
Letitia Watts creates art that explores her dreams. Combining painting, drawing, collage, cyanotype and printmaking allows her to express multi levels of time and space. Vibrant colors, gestural lines and layers create an expressive and unique body of work. Her work has been described as “enchanting, whimsical and joyful.”
She has a BA degree in Painting and Printmaking from San Diego State University and has continued her education with many workshops and individualized study with diverse artists. She is a member of the Santa Fe Society of Artists and exhibits with them from April-October in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Artist Statement For many years I have used my dreams as a starting point for my work. I keep a dream journal and write or make a small sketch to remember images, colors and moments. Certain dreams let me know that they are "painting dreams." When I'm making art I find that a variety of techniques helps me express a sense of the dreams. A juxtaposition of figurative images in abstracted landscapes or backgrounds help me translate the unusual situations I experience when I dream. I hope the joy I find in making my art and journeying into the dream world can both bring you joy and inspire you.
